Steve's Blog - December 2009

Steve CreeHi Everyone!
I just want to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to everyone (young people and Leaders) for some magnificient Scouting these last few months. I have had the opportunity to see lots of good positive Scouting in the County with fantastic reports in our local newspapers and at the Interim Census in October, indications are that the County is again growing with young people and Leaders - fantastic!

In 2010 we look forward to many activities starting with the N.E.S.S.T. Ramble and Hike in January - hope you've submitted your booking forms. Beavers will be off to Twin Lakes in the Summer, Scouts are still planning, Explorers are looking forward to the challenge of the Nottingham Monolpoly Live competition and Network and Leaders have their own camp (without young people) at Sherbrooke over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The usual Competition weekends will be held again throughout the year and for Scouts, Explorers, Network and Leaders there are plenty of Activity Weekends (climbing, hiking, BMX biking, water activites, etc. being arranged by our County ACCs for Activities. There is also lots, lots more happening, so keep watching these websites.

I hope that you all have a Blessed and Peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cheers!
Steve Deputy County Commissioner
