NOTTINGHAMSHIRE SCOUTS JOIN TEXT GIVING:
This month we are launching our TextGiving function, which will hopefully make it easier for people to donate small amounts of money instantly to support the work of our charity. People can choose to donate £1/£2/£3/£5 or £10 via their mobile by texting the code TBSW12 followed by the amount to 70070. For example 'TBSW £5' to 70070.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP CENSUS:
January 31st is the date at which we capture our membership data. Group Scout Leaders, District Commissioners and their teams will be gathering information from all sections and adults over the next month. Please support them in this process with accurate and timely information, the annual census is one of those things whereby if we all do a little then together we achieve a lot. Please also remember that a Scout is friendly and considerate and a Scout to be trusted. Our census is important for many reasons: it helps us understand who we are; helps us to celebrate growth; know where to target support and resource; where to open new sections and groups; helps groups to develop and plan for the future; supports the planning and delivery of activities, events and training; insures our members and completes the Group registration for the following year. If we deliberately give misinformation we jeopardise all of the above and put ourselves and young people at risk. More information and a useful guide can be found at www.scouts.org.uk/census
AMAZING GSL DAYS:
There are a series of GSL days happening around the East Midlands. And what's great is that three of them are happening on our doorstep! 3rd March - Kettering, 4th March - Loughborough, 24th March - Newark, 25th March - South Normanton. The events are set to be a really good and we are again subsidising places, so that the final cost to Groups is only £10 per place. Please circulate this information to GSLs/Group Contacts etc... as it promises to be a really fantastic development event. NOT TO BE MISSED! Wouldn't it be great if we could have every Group represented. More info and booking form will be available at www.notts-scouts.org.uk/GSL
